Allen & Freda Pedersen Community Garden
The Allen and Freda Pedersen Community Garden celebrates the legacy of the Pedersens in growing flowers, fruits, and vegetables to share with others. This garden is a first for the Crookston campus and the result of the generosity of (the late) Allen & Freda Pedersen. This project has had many collaborators: City of Crookston (land owner), Sodexo Dining Services, Valley Technology Park, and the U of M Crookston Center for Sustainability, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and Agriculture and Natural Resources Department have helped make the garden a reality over the years. Produce from the garden is used in the campus dining hall and students are hired to assist with the garden's maintenance.
