Men's Baseball

The Golden Eagles baseball team competes in NCAA Division II, and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC), one of the division's premier leagues. Minnesota Crookston has been a top-notch NSIC program in recent history, making five NSIC Tournament appearances since 2016. The Golden Eagles are in their 10th season under Head Coach Steve Gust, the second-winningest coach in any sport in Minnesota Crookston athletics history.

Program Highlights

  • Jake Hjelle was the 2023 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II National Player of the Year
  • Zach Seipel was the first player in program history to be drafted by the MLB in 2018
  • Seven former Golden Eagles have gone on to play professional baseball
  • Six NSIC Tournament appearances since 2000 (five have been within the last eight years)
  • Current Head Coach Steve Gust is the second-winningest head coach in U of M Crookston history
  • Several All-America, National Players of the Year, All-Region and Golden Glove players in the past eight years
