Providing Academic Leadership and Support

Academic Affairs has the primary responsible for implementing the University of Minnesota Crookston’s mission of teaching and learning, research, and outreach and public service. It exists to provide leadership and support for academic and programmatic units in carrying out this mission. Thus, Academic Affairs has the responsibility for all educational programs and services, as well as the development, implementation, and monitoring of academic policies and procedures, academic program planning and approval, academic personnel (including appointments and reappointments, tenure and promotion, annual evaluations), institutional accreditation and accountability, program review, assessment of student learning, and undergraduate research opportunities.

Academic Affairs is made up of four academic departments, as well as several other educational programs and services.

    The UMN Crookston will celebrate its 59th graduating class with a commencement ceremony on May 2, 2026 at 11 a.m. in Lysaker Gymnasium. Commencement exercises will include a reception for graduating students and their families before the ceremony. The community is invited to join us for the celebration.
