Promotion and Tenure Policies
Tenure-track faculty are encouraged to review the policies and procedures leading to tenure and promotion. The Crookston campus has its own specific process, which is detailed in the 7.12 policy links. Each department has a separate 7.12 file, and all of them have been approved by the Board of Regents.
New faculty are strongly encouraged to meet with their department heads frequently regarding their progress toward tenure and promotion. Careful attention to the annual Accomplishment form will assist you in preparing your file for eventual promotion and tenure.
You should also be able to access information on Tenure and Promotion through your MyU portal > Faculty Center. Should you have questions about the process, please do not hesitate to talk with your department head or the Academic Affairs Office.
