Research Opportunities for Our Students

University Undergraduate Research (UROP)

The University of Minnesota is one of the world’s great research universities. On our campuses, at our field stations, and in our communities, literally, tens of thousands of students, faculty, and staff create new knowledge and develop new examples of human expression each and every day.  The University of Minnesota's Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) provides funding to U of M undergraduates who work on a research project with a faculty mentor. UROP provides a stipend and expense money to students. UROP is open to freshmen through seniors who are in an undergraduate degree program in good academic standing. Applications are accepted twice a year through the UROP web site.
