Solar Storm

Solar Storm Sculpture in Sargeant Student Center

This sculpture hangs like a chandelier from the ceiling in the Sargeant Student Center. It is composed mostly of aluminum and clear acrylic panels, and is made of 59 computer controlled LEDs which change colors on a 14-minute cycle. The sculpture is meant to mimic the beauty of the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights, often seen in northern Minnesota.
