Ed Widseth Field

For many years Ed Widseth Field was the home of the University of Minnesota Crookston football team. Now, it's the home of the Crookston High School Pirate football team. A football field with press box, bleachers and lights. The stadium can seat up to 2,000 people and is a grass playing surface. In addition, the facility contains a ticket booth, concession building with handicapped accessible bathroom and an all-weather track. The football field was officially named Ed Widseth Field in lasting tribute to Edwin Widseth, northwest School of Agriculture '32, All-American, All-Pro (MVP 1938) and College Football Hall of Fame Recipient.

Location on Campus
Ed Widseth Field's primary location is on the south side of the University of Minnesota Crookston campus, along Highway 2.  It's also south of Heritage & Evergreen Halls and west of the UMN Crookston Golden Eagle Baseball and Softball fields.

  • Over $400,000 worth of renovations were made in 2007, which included improvements to the playing field and new track surface, as well as a new ticket booth, concession stand that houses permanent, handicapped accessible bathrooms.
