Heating Plant
Much of UMN Crookston is heated by a system of underground tunnels and pipes that circulate hot water. The Heating Plant burns coal to create the steam to heat the water.
Location on Campus
The Heating Plant's primary location is on the north side of the University of Minnesota Crookston campus, near 510 County Road. It's north of Sahlstrom Conference Center and west of Kiser Building.

The first Heating Plant was established in 1913. The coal storage building was added in 1974.
