U of M Crookston Case Management is dedicated to supporting students facing crises, life stressors, or barriers related to mental health and well-being. Our case manager coordinates intervention and support efforts across campus and community systems to ensure students can overcome challenges and achieve success.
How Can a Case Manager Help You?
If you feel you have something going on in life and do not know where to start contact the case manager, Kati Auger. She will support students through a variety of challenges by:
- Assisting with financial concerns and connecting you with available resources. (SNAP, WIC, medical assistance, and other resources such as Eagle's Essentials Pantry)
- Linking you to appropriate mental health or stress-related resources. (Counseling Services, Mentorship Program, Student Success Center)
- Addressing food insecurity issues that arise due to mental health or stress.
- Connect you with academic success resources or disability services and guide you through the process.
Areas Case Managers Routinely Address:
- Assessing Needs: Understanding your unique needs and support systems.
- Crisis Planning: Helping you develop coping mechanisms for potential crises.
- Service Coordination: Monitoring and coordinating the use of on-campus and off-campus services to support your goals.
What to Expect in a Meeting with a Case Manager?
- Initial Discussion: An open conversation to understand the specific challenges you're facing.
- Collaborative Planning: Working together to create a personalized plan with regular check-ins
and tailored support strategies.
How Often Will I Meet with a Case Manager?
The frequency of meetings depends on your circumstances. Some students may only need 1-2 meetings, while others may require ongoing sessions to ensure all needs are met and resources are in place.
