There’s no question that in this day and age, communication is key. Combine your love of agriculture and communications in this exciting program. This degree is a game-changer in the critical need for storytelling in today’s ag industry. Communicators are needed across the industry, whether it’s farmers, leading companies, implement dealers, commodity groups, professional publications, or areas such as food, beverage, livestock, and the textile industries. This program blends agriculture, communication, and liberal education courses that prepare grads for a wide variety of exciting career choices.

Agricultural Communication is a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree.

Agricultural Communication Major

The agricultural communication degree prepares students to be effective communicators in agribusinesses, commodity groups, agricultural advocacy agencies, and agricultural communication organizations. The program blends agriculture, communication, and liberal education courses that prepare students for a wide variety of career choices.

This program offers students a great deal of flexibility to tailor their program to their interests and career choices. The flexibility comes from combining communication and agriculture electives.

It provides both depth and breadth in two areas of study, giving students opportunities to focus on their areas of interest in communication and agriculture.

Our location near the Red River Valley of the North is one of the world's richest agricultural production areas, with many agricultural businesses and opportunities to interact with those industries.

Students benefit from taking courses in two disciplines, which provide a base of knowledge in these areas and prepare them for careers in agricultural communication.

Students develop and strengthen their writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills, which are used every day in the marketplace of agricultural industries.

Immersed in U of M Crookston's distinctive technology culture, graduates are prepared to communicate effectively within agriculture's corporate and public forums.

Graduates land jobs in all sectors of the economy.

Residential Life
