Keep up with the latest in technology, machinery, and livestock production. On a campus surrounded by agriculture, work in the near-by fields using the latest ag production practices. Whether you’re using GIS systems or flying camera-equipped drones, you’ll help improve the farming world. Earn your degree from a campus known for its leadership in agriculture. 

Agricultural Systems Management is a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree.

Ag Systems Management Major

This program combines students' interests in machinery, technology, and crop and livestock production with superior people skills, creative thinking, and problem-solving to build a career in the agricultural and food production industry.

Agricultural systems management graduates are well-versed in agricultural foundations and have a working knowledge of economic systems with a well-developed sense of professionalism. Companies are looking for multi-talented people who are confident around computers, machines, and business plans. The agricultural systems management program offers three areas of emphasis to provide a unique portfolio of technical and business skills that give graduates an edge in the job market.

Ag Systems Management Minor

A minor in agricultural systems management allows students to learn the principles of agricultural technologies and how they relate to crop and livestock production and modern agricultural machinery. Students can also gain valuable knowledge in renewable energy and biofuels technology and how that relates to agricultural enterprises.

Agricultural Systems Management Minor Courses

Emphasis Areas:

  • Farm and Ranch Management
  • Precision Agriculture

Hands-on experience working with machinery, technology, and livestock production.

Take field trips and tour local farms, businesses, and elevators.

Computers and similar technologies are utilized to explain details regarding precision agriculture and economic-based systems.

Work in the fields near campus using the latest agricultural production practices.

Observe and learn about the relationship between GPS guidance, yield monitors, field mapping, and the digital history of a field.
