Connecting the Campus to the Outside World
University Relations leads and helps coordinate campus public relations closely with Outreach & Engagement. Some of the major public relations activities include:
- Helping to establish and market the University's leased space, The Nest on Broadway, in downtown Crookston
- Assist with planning and promotion for large campus events open to the public such as building dedications
- Assisting with coordination and staffing of a presence at the Polk County Fair in July
- Assisting with coordination and planning of U of M Crookston's activities for Crookston’s annual Ox Cart Days celebration in August, including hosting the annual Ice Cream Social and helping coordinate U of M Crookston’s participation in the Torchlight Parade
- Assisting with promotion of Maroon and Gold Fridays within the business community in Crookston
- Helping coordinate appearances of Regal the Golden Eagle, U of M Crookston’s mascot, for non-athletics related events (UMC Athletics coordinates Regal’s appearance at games and other athletics-related events)
