Biography

My name is Rae French and I have been working at UMN Crookston for 25 years, most recently in the area of international admissions and study abroad. I’ve had the distinct pleasure of meeting students from around the world, traveling, and creating an environment of sharing culture.

I live in Crookston with my husband and our two children. My husband also works at UMN Crookston as a professor of music and theater and my kids are both in high school. Together we are involved with many organizations throughout the community. We love it here!

One of the most rewarding experiences about my job is meeting students like you for the first time and watching the growth they go through while attending UMN Crookston. Some of the activities I organize for them include the International Dinner Series, International Week, volunteering at the schools, experiencing host families, fishing, biking and so much more. Many of our alumni are now very successful business owners, nurses, teachers, accountants and software engineers.

In closing, I am the first person you will meet on campus and through me, you will meet a community of wonderful people who you will be able to stay in touch with for a lifetime. I hope UMN Crookston will be your home-away-from-home.
