The University of Minnesota Crookston will be hosting its annual International Dinner Series in March 2024. This series will consist of three authentic international dinners March 11, 18, and 25 with presentations by U of M Crookston international students.
Tickets for each dinner are $25 per adult or $20 for ages 18 and under. U of M Crookston students may use their meal plan swipe, otherwise it is $10 for those who do not have a meal plan. Only a limited number of tickets are available. Tickets can be purchased at z.umn.edu/MIC2024Dinners.
The first dinner featuring cuisine from Japan will be held March 11 at 6 p.m. in Bede Ballroom. Senior Yusuke Matsuda, a communications major from Fukuoka, Japan, will give a presentation on Japanese food and culture. The March 11 menu includes Miso soup, Asian salad, Japanese curry (vegetarian options available), and Shiratama-Dango.
The second dinner featuring cuisine from Pakistan will be held March 18 at 6 p.m. in Bede Ballroom. Global undergraduate international exchange student Kashaf, who is studying software engineering, will give a presentation on Pakistani food and culture. The March 18 menu includes Pakor, Harri Chatni and Chhana Chaat, Chicken Biryani and Vegetarian Biryani, Seekh Kebab, Keer, and Kulfi.
The last event on March 25 at 6 p.m. in Bede Ballroom includes a dinner as well as a Multicultural Show. The show will feature several talents from many backgrounds including dancing, singing, and instrument playing and will be hosted by U of M Crookston’s Multicultural and International Club (MIC). The menu for the March 25 event includes an array of food from Germany, Nepal, and Ethiopia.
