Gain additional skills with a programming minor

Programming is a useful skill for those entering the workforce in just about every sector of the economy. With a programming minor, students with any major can learn programming languages and understand software development. This minor provides students with opportunities for problem-solving, structured and creative thinking, and hands-on experience with a broad range of software languages.

Programming Minor

A programming minor can be completed by students in any area of study. Students completing the minor will understand programming languages, including database and web development.

The minor consists of courses designed to provide students in any field with a technical background that includes hands-on experiences, giving them a competitive edge.

After completing the program, graduates will:

  • Work as an individual or as part of a team to develop and deliver software artifacts.
  • Design appropriate solutions in one or more application domains using software engineering approaches that integrate ethical, social, legal, and economic concerns.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and apply current theories, models, and techniques that provide a basis for problem identification and analysis, software design, development, implementation, verification, and documentation.
