The world runs on information technology. It is the backbone of today’s business world. In the information technology management program, you’ll integrate new and advanced computer technology, manage organization’s existing infrastructure and daily operations, and be involved with mastering new technologies to help organizations with their network and IT management systems. Learn about big data and how IT is the baseline of every industry.

Information Technology Management is a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree.

The information technology management program prepares students for technical and management positions in business and industry. Graduates have the knowledge, experience, and skills to succeed in technology-related careers as well as the business and management know-how for mid-management positions, such as information technology specialists, application developers, network administrators, webmasters, technology project managers, and information systems managers.

After completing the program, graduates will:

  • Understand information systems hardware, operating systems, programming languages, and application software.
  • Utilize computer technology in preparing programs, presentations, and written reports.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely in written and oral communications through technical reports, solutions to information technology problems, and feasibility studies.
  • Develop skills in problem-solving, decision-making, and responding to change.
  • Demonstrate global and ethical perspectives in information technology management.
  • Have an understanding of the role of finance, marketing, and management as job responsibilities of the information technology professional.

An information technology management minor gives students a general background in technology, computer applications, services, and systems.

After completing the program, graduates will:

  • Students have the ability to work with information system hardware, messaging systems, and operating systems.
  • Get hands-on experience in developing IT solutions for businesses.
  • Learn how to use various programming languages and application software.
  • Work on database system design, management, and implementation.
  • Work with servers, routers, bridges, gateways, transmission media, communication protocols, network security, and performance tuning.
  • Students can work on IT projects for campus departments, administration offices, and the Computer Help Desk.
  • Combine your information technology management degree with a minor in cybersecurity and information assurance (online only).
