SSC Vision
The Student Success Center connects the campus community with resources and relationships, empowering students to achieve their goals of learning and discovery.
SSC Mission Statement
The Student Success Center (SSC) fosters the holistic development of students as they navigate their college experience, prepare for their future, and thrive within a diverse world.
In pursuit of this mission, we center these values:
SSC Values
Agency and resourcefulness
We believe students should be provided with the opportunity to develop skills and have agency over their academic and professional career to create their own paths.
Belonging and connection
We believe student success arises from a place where every student identifies as part of U of M Crookston and feels that they are welcomed and uplifted.
Career readiness and education
We believe one of the pursuits of education is career success and equity. We believe our work can connect students with programs, events, and tools that not only help a student earn their first job, but find purpose and success in their professional journey.
Equity, inclusion, and diversity
We believe each student has knowledge and experiences that shape their understanding of who they are as individuals and as part of our world. We believe that embracing differences is critical to serving our students and helping them to find their own success.
Intellectual development
We believe our work supports the missions of our campus and the broader University of Minnesota by providing opportunities for our campus community to acquire, advance, apply, and share knowledge for the betterment of ourselves, our campus, our community, and our world.
Multicultural competence
We believe education includes learning about others and that our work supports efforts to help students learn how to live, work, learn, and grow as part of our diverse global society.
Peer support and partnership
We believe one of the defining characteristics of our campus is our sense of community and collegiality. We lead by example by being a place of connection across our campus and encourage, train, and mentor students to similarly support each other as peer educators and leaders.
