Students from many countries attend the University of Minnesota Crookston, a system campus of the University of Minnesota. Each student contributes a unique world view and participates in all aspects of campus life. We pride ourselves on being a small, safe and transfer-friendly campus which seeks to meet the individual needs of all students through technology, personal attention, and dedicated career planning.
You are considered an international student if you are not a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or refugee, and you are on a temporary visa; or if you will require any type of visa to study in the United States.
International Students
- November 1, 2024 - Spring 2025 Deadline
- June 1, 2025 - Fall 2025 Deadline
Submit your English proficiency (if applicable) and High school transcript courses and grades. If you complete secondary school in a country where a secondary leaving examination is required for university entry, you must also provide results of this examination.
After being academically admitted you will want to become officially admitted. To become officially admitted students must submit the required documents to receive an I-20. See I-20 documents in International Admission FAQ.
HOUSING
There are several residential hall options on campus. There are also off-campus apartments and homes in and around Crookston.
TRANSPORTATION
There is a city bus service available for our students to use. You will need to have your U card to use the bus. See more options at Transportation and Lodging.
STUDENT EMPLOYMENT
International students studying at Crookston are eligible for institutional student employment jobs. Seek employment at our Bookstore, Dining Services, Computer Help Desk and more!
