Meet the Writing Center Consultants
Doanh Tran
Doanh is a junior majoring in English, with minors in Music and Humanities. She has experience in COMP, COMM, ENGL (a lot of them), and WRIT classes, and can also help with ESL learning as an international student. Outside of academics and Writing Center work, she enjoys writing poems, photography, movies, music, and spending time with her friends and boyfriend. You can also catch her working at Brown Dining.
Emmah Burnes
Emmah is a junior majoring in Communication and Sport Media Communication, with minors in Graphic Design, Humanities, and Writing. Emmah has experience in COMP, COMM, and WRIT, and can also help with writing-intensive assignments for sociology, philosophy, and UMC 1200 classes. Outside of academics and Writing Center work, Emmah enjoys playing soccer, reading, spending quality time with friends, and all things social media!
Irelyn Spencer
Irelyn is a senior majoring in Health Sciences, with a minor in Honors. Irelyn has experience in COMP, SOC, PHIL, WRIT classes, and writing-intensive assignments for science-based classes. Outside of academics and Writing Center work, Irelyn enjoys playing softball, reading, playing guitar, and snowboarding.
Mallory Kowalke
Mallory is a junior majoring in Agricultural Education. Mallory has experience in COMP and COMM courses and can also help with writing-intensive assignments for ecology, animal science, education, and philosophy courses. Outside of academics and Writing Center work, Mallory enjoys being on the trap team, showing livestock, and photography.
Mikaela Woodruff
Mikaela is a senior majoring in Equine Science and English. Mikaela has experience in COMP, COMM, ENGL, and WRIT and can also help with writing-intensive assignments for EQSC and ANSC. Outside of academics and Writing Center work, Mikaela enjoys reading epic fantasy novels, playing piano, and working on craft projects.
Morgan Shaw
Morgan is a junior majoring in Sports and Recreation management. Morgan has experience in COMP, COMM, ENGL and WRIT courses and can also help with writing-intensive assignments for SPAN and SRM. Outside of academics and Writing Center work, Morgan enjoys running, reading and both Nordic and Alpine skiing.
Reese Johnson
Reese is a sophomore majoring in Accounting, with minors in Honors and Leadership. He has experience writing resumes, cover letters, research papers, and legal case studies. Reese also has experience in courses for HON, COMM, COMP, WRIT, and ENGL. He can also help with papers for courses relating to GBUS that require occasional writing, papers, and/or research such as Career and Professional Development and Legal Environment in Business. Outside of academics Reese enjoys Dungeons and Dragons, gaming, leisure writing, and world-building.
Taylor McManus
Taylor is a sophomore majoring in Biology. Taylor has experience with COMP I and COMP II as well as scientific writing (BIOL) and lab reports (CHEM & BIOL). He can help with research papers, Rogerian argument essays, and analysis of primary articles. Outside of work, Taylor enjoys most forms of nature, particularly in the summertime, and is involved in the Horticulture Club.
Alex Zagrebin
Alex is a freshman majoring in Animal Science Pre-Vet. Alex has experience in COMP 1, COMP 2, and PSYC, and they can also help with writing-intensive assignments for British Literature, Speech, and Sociology. Outside of academics and Writing Center work, Alex enjoys creative writing and worldbuilding for their personal projects.
