Move-In: Friday, August 22, 2025

Residential Life move in will take place from 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m on Friday, August 22. To help with the flow of traffic that morning we ask that students follow the table below to find out when they should arrive on campus for move-in. All vehicles will pull into the main entrance of campus off of Highway 2. Members of our Move-In Crew will then guide you to the correct building based on your room placement. Outside each residence hall, there will be a table where you will get your room key and Residential Life information.

I'm a transfer student, do I need to attend Welcome Weekend?

As a Transfer student we understand that you have "been there" & "done that", so we offer you the choice on how you would like to get started here at U of M Crookston. You will be automatically opted in to Transition Crookston, which is a one-day orientation specifically designed for transfer students. However, if you would prefer to attend all of Welcome Weekend, email Monica Kustritz at [email protected].

I'm a parent/family/guest of a new or transfer student, are there activities that I can attend?

During Move-In Day/Welcome Weekend there is a parent/family session that is optional, and all families are welcome at the Welcome Home Picnic on campus that evening. During Transition Crookston (the day before classes start), parents and families are able to attend, though there is no specific or additional programming. Due to the timing of Transition Crookston, there tends to be a low family/parent presence.

I'm an upperclassman and want to help with Welcome Weekend, what do I need to know?

Awesome!  Consider becoming an S.O.S. (Student Orientation Staff) Leader! S.O.S. Leaders are volunteer students who help welcome new students to campus during Welcome Weekend.  We also need students to help with transfer student orientation (a.k.a. "Transition Crookston") by becoming a Transition Ambassador.  Applications and complete job descriptions can be obtained from the Educational Programs and Transitions office.
