Fostering a Culture of Belonging

Mission and Vision

At UMN Crookston, we believe that a holistic approach to student wellness is crucial for student success. We understand that what happens out of the classroom can be just as impactful to the academic experience, and each student is unique in what they need to be happy, healthy, and successful.

Our holistic approach extends beyond individual support to encompass a broader mission and vision. We aim to create an environment where students can explore their identities, values, and personal needs, while preparing them to navigate a dynamic world with confidence.

Our mission to create a culture of belonging, by providing opportunities for students to learn about themselves and others, as well as by providing direct student support when a student is needing extra help.

Our holistic approach, achieved through Multicultural Education, as well as Preventative and Responsive student wellbeing initiatives, ensures a supportive and inclusive environment, helping students thrive academically, socially, and personally at UMN Crookston.

Goals

  • Organize events that promote belonging and inclusion awareness.
  • Offer training for student leaders, faculty, and staff to better understand personal and social identities.
  • Support students and organizations related to their identities, and support for historically marginalized groups.
