- English Education graduates will be able to gain employment in Education, teaching English in grades 5-12.
- English is the second most popular degree for secondary education teachers (Digest for Education Statistics 2011), and in Minnesota, English Literature is the 24th most popular area of teaching out of 466 categories (MN Department of Education, 2012-2013). “Minnesota currently employs 65,000 English-related professionals….The two largest English-related professions in Minnesota are Elementary School Teachers and Secondary School Teachers” (“Environmental Scan”, 2017, p. 3).
