Favorite thing about UMN Crookston?

My favorite thing about UMN Crookston is the atmosphere. It truly feels like home at UMN Crookston, and I have made so many connections not only with fellow students, but with my professors as well. I look forward to commuting to campus everyday to see the friendly faces!

What I would say to alumni as a current student?

UMN Crookston is extremely proud of all its alumni, and I recommend staying connected to this University in any way possible. The University wouldn’t be what it is today without its alumni, and all alumni are welcomed to campus with open arms, so take a trip down memory lane if you get the chance!

All kinds of promotional materials for every department on campus. Help develop content for popular social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok).

Favorite thing about UMN Crookston?

My favorite thing about UMN Crookston is I am a person rather than a number to my professors. My professors know who I am, and are so reachable when I need help. I see them around campus and am recognizable to them, rather than just being another one of a hundred students in a lecture hall.

What I would say to alumni as a current student?

There are so many great opportunities to stay connected to UMN Crookston. Stay involved with your alma mater. There are so many great events and opportunities throughout the year to give you an excuse to come back and visit! Check the events calendar and don’t become a stranger!

Do not forget the importance of the mentors and connections you have made here; they last a lifetime. This institution offers amazing opportunities to stay present far past your graduation year. We always love to listen and learn from your experiences and career progress.

What is your role in the University and Alumni Relations department?

I’m an intern for the University and Alumni Department as a whole, so I get to work on a wide variety of tasks and initiatives. That includes event planning, content creation, graphic design, social media, story writing, and sitting in on lots and lots of meetings!

My favorite thing about UMN Crookston is there are so many opportunities to get involved. Even though it’s a small campus, it never feels that way! Everyone here wants you to succeed and will help you so much throughout the process.

What I would say to alumni as a current student?

Aggies, Trojans, and former Golden Eagles are living, walking, and breathing history of the university. It’s so fun to listen to stories about how UMN Crookston once was, and the many people who came before me to make it what it is today! Never stop sharing your stories and experiences and keeping your school’s legacy alive.
