    Two-court gymnasium and running/walking track
    The running/walking track was designed so that 10 laps equal one mile. The two-court gymnasium includes markings and equipment for activities including basketball, volleyball, tennis, futsal (indoor soccer), team handball, badminton, ping pong, boxing and MMA training, and indoor archery.

    Cardio and weight machines & free weights are cutting-edge
    These cutting-edge machines by Life Fitness, Woodway and Hammer Strength feature scanning codes that allow smart phones to utilize apps for fitness tracking and circuit training. Students can also download and track their cardiovascular workouts via the Internet.

    The multipurpose room
    This room features a sprung wooden floor as well as a Fitness-on- Demand video kiosk with an initial database of over 125 prerecorded exercise routines. The room is ideal for group activities such as yoga, aerobics, dance, Zumba, and other group fitness activities.

Insurance Reimbursement

Follow these simple steps

  1. Go to nihcarewards.org
  2. Under members options click first time enrollment
  3. Select your insurance company
  4. Enter group # from insurance card if under Medica
  5. Enter zip code of facility (56716)
  6. Click "Enroll Online" complete the necessary information
  7. Complete the blanks in the "Member Enrollment" and submit
  8. For the bar code field, pick any number you can remember
  9. Your work is done unless you have to update your profile in the future
  10. The Wellness Center will turn in your workout history each month for the reimbursement.

Throughout the school year we offer a mix of intramural sports and activities here at UMN - Crookston. We want you to have a fun way to stay active, practice teamwork, and connect with other students on campus. These activities offer you a way to continue enjoying the sports you love playing such as volleyball, basketball, or volleyball. You will also discover new activities such as crossnet volleyball, spikeball, broomball, and much more. 

There is no limit to how many things you can sign up for. We cannot wait to see you out there having some fun, giving it your all, and having some friendly competitions.

Our facility was completed in June 2016. A 36,070 sq. ft. University Wellness and Recreation facility features a two-court gymnasium with suspended jogging/walking track, fitness/cardio areas, general locker rooms, a classroom, and a multipurpose room for group exercise. Our inventory includes a wide variety of sports/fitness equipment available for rent. Throughout the year we put on intramural sport leagues and wellness center events. We host leagues and events such as: Basketball leagues, indoor volleyball, ping pong tournaments, cornhole league, and much more. 

Fitness on Demand

We offer a variety of Fitness on Demand classes. These classes are on a database of fitness classes on a Kiosk located in our Multi-Purpose room. These classes are taught by actual instructors on video. This is available for use in our facility only.

Can outside community members use the Wellness Center?

Our facility is only available to current full-time time fee paying UMC students, Faculty/Staff, and Alumni of UMC. Spouses of these members are also able to purchase membership. Look at our membership tab for pricing and visit the wellness center to sign up. 

Is there an area to change clothes of shower?

We have both Men’s and Women’s locker rooms with showers on the first floor. On the second floor we have two gender neutral bathrooms.
