The University of Minnesota Crookston has announced its planned partnership with Bach Khoa Sai Gon College (BKC) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam for a 1+3 pathway program. BKC President Hoang Van Phuc traveled to Crookston to sign a memorandum of understanding agreement on May 5, 2023 with UMN Crookston Chancellor Mary Holz-Clause. President Hoang was accompanied by Bach Khoa Sai Gon College Professor Tran Huu Yen Loan, President of Study Abroad Promotion Council Mr. Park Sang Soon, and student Yeongee Park.

Representatives from both campuses discussed a plan for mutual exchange of students and educational programs between Bach Khoa Sai Gon College and the University of Minnesota Crookston. In particular, they spoke about ways to include a pathway plan for Vietnamese students to transfer to the University of Minnesota Crookston campus and enter graduate school, and bring credit transfers from BKC to UMN Crookston.

“We’re so excited to explore this pathway and bring these institutions together to benefit students,” said Chancellor Holz-Clause. “This partnership adds to our growing global efforts and we are grateful BKC representatives could join us on the Crookston campus.”

The guests from Vietnam were on the Crookston campus through the Commencement ceremony on May 6.
