University of Minnesota Crookston students involved with the Multicultural International Club participated in the annual Chalk It Up art event in downtown Crookston September 10 and won first place in the student art contest sponsored by Crookston Rotary Club. Students earned a $350 cash prize for their artwork on 2nd St.
International students that participated in the art contest included Hyunwook Cho of Korea, Hinata Horikawa of Japan, Tseten Gurung of Nepal, Tsebaot Getachew of Ethiopia, Madeleine Schneider of Germany, Hermon Yonatan of Ethiopia, Amal Mamo of Ethiopia, Yu-Chen Chan of Taiwan, Tianyu Xiong of China, Norden Bista of Nepal, Seohyun Lee of Korea, Nana Ito of Japan, and Samuel Tilahun of Ethiopia.
