Are you fascinated by the science involved in catching criminals? Considering a career in law enforcement? Get a taste of these real-world careers at the University of Minnesota Crookston’s inaugural Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) Camp August 5 and 6, 2024. This new camp is open to high school students entering grades 9-12.
Over the course of two days, students will have the opportunity to learn hands-on investigation techniques as they help process and investigate a mock crime scene. Student participants will work as part of a team of investigators to gather physical evidence, such as fingerprints, fiber and hair samples, and interview witnesses to find the culprit.
Camp hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. August 5 and 6, and the registration fee includes meals, snacks, and a t-shirt. A select number of scholarships are available and overnight accommodations can be made. Register now at z.umn.edu/csicamp.
“The opportunities in the criminal justice field have never been better," says U of M Crookston Criminal Justice Program Director David Seyfried. "We designed this camp to give students a glimpse of the exciting and varied careers an education in criminal justice can provide.”
