UMN Crookston has officially named Megan Bell, Ph.D., as the Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) for the Business, Arts, and Education (BAE) division. Bell, who has served in the role in an interim capacity since August 2025, will begin her permanent appointment on June 15, 2026.
Looking back at her time at UMN Crookston, Siewert, a Hotel Restaurant & Institutional Management graduate and hospitality association student member who spent time in the hotel and human resources industries before starting her own business, said she really enjoyed the ‘small town feeling’ and the people on campus.
Dooley began his new role on campus in July 2025.
Melvin began her role on campus February 26, 2024.

Griffin Gillespie has been hired as the new Director of Human Resources at the University of Minnesota Crookston. Gillespie, a native of Park River and resident of Grand Forks, spent his last five years at Altru Health System as the Supervisor of Recruitment/Talent Specialist/Provider Recruiter.
Three members of the University of Minnesota Crookston Campus Advancement and Advisory Board (CAAB) have stepped down after years of service to the Board.
Last week, management lecturer Megan Kragness, was notified that she successfully passed the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP®) certification exam.
