The University of Minnesota Crookston is proud to announce Maggie Melvin has been named the next Director of Admissions. Melvin began her role on campus February 26, 2024.
Melvin has previous experience working in higher education most recently for the University of North Dakota as the Director of Admissions and Records for their School of Law. She brings leadership in recruitment efforts and knowledge of eligibility and educational objectives.
“I am thrilled and honored to have been selected to serve as the new Director of Admissions,” said Melvin. “I look forward to collaborating with the University of Minnesota Crookston campus community along with the Crookston community as a whole while getting the chance to work with an incredibly talented team of admissions professionals.”
“The admissions process, from the time prospective students make their first inquiry to the time they are walking on campus for the first day of classes, is something that I am very passionate about,” she added. “The greatest of student success stories once began with submitting an application to the school that was their top choice. With the help of the admissions team along with my skills and knowledge acquired, I am confident that the University of Minnesota Crookston is and will continue to be successful in recruiting and seeing the best and brightest students through to completion. The future of UMC is bright and I am excited to begin my journey and look forward to the future.”
Melvin received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of North Dakota, and is currently pursuing her doctorate in Education. In her free time, Melvin likes to bowl competitively and spend time with her husband and infant son, and their pets that include two Sheep-a-doodles and a cat. Plus, they like to spend their summers at the lake.
