Graduates with a Leadership Minor will develop a personal leadership philosophy that will help them fulfill their future roles and responsibilities as visionary leaders. The intent of the Leadership Minor is to be interdisciplinary so it can be incorporated into any current or future major.

You will develop a leadership philosophy based on the needs to become an effective leader within your chosen field of study.

You will learn to utilize different leadership styles, types, and theories to assess past and current leaders.

You will also develop effective leadership skills as a means of motivating and inspiring others into action.

At the U of M Crookston, you won’t spend all your time behind a desk. Our curriculum is designed around experiential learning, which means we want you to have as much hands-on learning as possible. Depending on your major, you’ll find opportunities to be in the field, the lab, the classroom, or engaging in simulated scenarios that give you a competitive edge when you enter the workforce or head to grad school. You’ll learn the concepts and then actively apply them through projects, field trips, site visits, internships, and interactions with professionals in the field.
