Are you fascinated by the science involved in catching criminals? Considering a career in law enforcement? Get a taste of these real-world careers at the University of Minnesota Crookston’s inaugural Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) Camp August 5 and 6, 2024. This new camp is open to high school students entering grades 9-12.
Over the course of two days, students will have the opportunity to learn hands-on investigation techniques as they help process and investigate a mock crime scene. Student participants will work as part of a team of investigators to gather physical evidence, such as fingerprints, fiber and hair samples, and interview witnesses to find the culprit.
Camp hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. August 5 and 6, and the registration fee includes meals, snacks, and a t-shirt. A select number of scholarships are available and overnight accommodations can be made. Register now.
“The opportunities in the criminal justice field have never been better," says UMN Crookston Criminal Justice Program Director David Seyfried. "We designed this camp to give students a glimpse of the exciting and varied careers an education in criminal justice can provide.”
