Michelle Christopherson part of Study Minnesota Delegation

University of Minnesota Crookston Director of Admissions Michelle Christopherson was part of the 12 member Study Minnesota Delegation who had a very successful trip to multiple embassies in Washington D.C. during Cherry Blossom Season. Group during embassy visit
The delegation met with high-level diplomats and strengthened relationships with Thailand, Colombia, Mexico, Indonesia and also with Education USA, US Department of State, Partners of the Americas, Senator Amy Klobuchar, and Senator Al Franken.
Day 1 stops included: Royal Thai Embassy – Minister Prayoth Benyasut, Assist Minister Chet Trirat, Counsellor Commercial Pattaramon Kanishthanon and Somthavil (Sandy) Thongprasert, Guidance Officer of Office of Educational Affairs; the Embassy of Colombia – Adriana Martinez - ‎Foreign Mission Assistant at Embassy of Colombia; the Embassy of Mexico - Alberto Fierro, Counsellor for Culture and Education, Executive Director, Mexican Cultural Institute & Embassy of Mexico. 
On Day 2 the group stopped at the Embassy of Indonesia – Minister Counselor Siuaji Raja and Educational and Cultural Attache Dr. Ismunandar; the US Dept of State - Jennifer Brown - EducationUSA, Janira Romero Reyes - Partners of the Americas and Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Academic Programs -  Marianne Craven; Senator Amy Klobuchar’s Office – Lindsey Herbel, Legislative Assistant/Counsel; and Senator Al Franken’s Office – Catherine Paolucci, Education Fellow.
The visits, along with a recent trip to Ukraine, are all a part of international student recruitment efforts.
