Greetings from the University of Minnesota Crookston! We’ve had a whirlwind of a summer with so many wonderful visitors coming to enjoy our beautiful campus for camps, celebrations, and annual and new events. Thank you to all who took part.

A special thank you to Crookston’s Night to Unite and the Ox Cart Days festival for hosting events on our campus once again. It’s great to see the hundreds of people who turn out for these annual occasions.

We’ve had the opportunity to work with many businesses and organizations over the summer for student internships, and enjoyed the students who stayed back to work on campus as well. As many of you know, all of our students must complete an internship ahead of graduation and we’ve been fortunate to make so many connections and open doors for future jobs for those students.

Every year we have international students who join us on the Crookston campus and we currently have 61 students from 17 countries including 20 international student-athletes. Our partnership with a university in Vietnam is particularly strong. We have 21 Vietnamese students on campus plus larger groups from Canada and Spain. Other students hail from Bahamas, Bangladesh, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, India, Japan, Mongolia, Nepal, Turkey, Ukraine, and Zambia.

We hope you’ve seen all the good news we’ve shared recently about our best value ranking in Minnesota (and North Dakota), our 10-year accreditation renewal by the Higher Learning Commission, and our Fulbright scholar Brian Dingmann, Ph.D., and hope you continue to follow along as we strive to provide our students with a world class University of Minnesota education, all from our small close-knit campus.

As we head into the school year, we are welcoming many new students, faculty, and staff to the Crookston community. We hope you’ll greet them as they get to know our wonderful city and the surrounding region.

I hope you have a happy 2025-2026 school year and make sure to visit campus for all our events and athletics competitions. Go Golden Eagles!
